Next time, please use the second gear. :wink2:
by the way, i do like the sound....

Walter....

I hear you on shifting, I did on my second run...

I am running a 13b in it, and for this run I was curious to see where 9,200 rpm is. The redline on the engine is 13,500rpm :shock2: and we are slowly getting up to that level.

The HP and Torque really does not start until 7k rpm anyways...

Kind of fun being able to exceed every speed limit in the united states in 1st gear! <Insert evil laugh here...>

Anyone remember the Mazda 767B, quad rotor LeMans cars?

IMO, mazda rotary is still one of the top choices to power an X1/9 chassis.

Sounds really good!

...unlike normally obnoxious rotormotors.
Did you strike oil or hock family jewels?
That right there sounds like mega money pro motor.

Thanks Mike.

Well, I have a partner on this build, and we did have a pro build the motor. We got a great deal on it at 5k.

The problem we are having now is with the handling. I think it is the transmission. When you let off the gas or shift into another gear, the car will want to change directions on you. The diff we are using right now is an open diff, and I think it is having problems with the 9,000+ rpm range we run in. I think when you let off the gas, and also when you romp on the gas, it creates a torque steer problem, only from the rear of the car. This translates into a very skittery car to drive over 80mph.

What do you guys think?
