Water jacket cover leaking - Do I have to drop the motor?

OK, after "solving" the leaking of the tension pulley stud there is still radiator fluid leaking around the water jacket cover. I have looked and there doesn't seem to be anyway to get to it with the motor in my Bertone. Please tell me there is some secret Jedi way you can remove it without dropping the motor. Thanks - Art
 
I seem to remember a long time ago I changed the motor mount on that end without removing the engine. That is the only thing really in the way of removing that end plate. IIRC i had the car on jack stands and I jacked that end of the engine up until it came out of the mounting point and then removed it from the engine. After that you should have access to all the end plate screws. It was a long time ago 20yrs +, and I don't remember all the little details but one thing I do remember is that it was not impossible.
