Here is the thing I replaced the t-stat gasket 3 times now, had the head flow tested, have a new head gasket, new intake/exhaust gaskets. I have narrowed the water leakage to the # 4 exhast port. My question to all you out there is If the head gasket was not seated correctly, or the intake and exhast gaskets were not on right would it cause it to leak? Any help would be great

If the head has the EGR ports in the exhaust ports, then you need to use the thermostat housing gasket that has the little flap in the upper corner. The flap covers the hole in that corner of the opening in the head. Also, make sure your thermostat housing has a matching block to seal the gasket over the hole.

Wild other guesses as follows: If the head were surfaced a lot, the head bolts could bottom in the block without clamping the gasket. Also I have seen head dowel bottom in the relief in the head doing the same thing.. The head dowels are there aren't they? X heads rarely crack, and you say it was pressure tested?? Not very likely that the manifold gaskets would do this if the surfaces were halfway clean and flat. I now only use Felpro head gaskets on these cars, but have not had "instant" problems with other gaskets. It's not an 1100 cc gasket? 1300 and 1500 are the same. If the head has to come off again, I would send it to a different shop for pressure testing (just in case the first shop missed something) Good luck, and let us know,
