Anyone seen a "Creeping" coolant temp sensor?
On my '85 FI --- after sitting overnight, I put a meter across the terminals and got a reading starting at 2.38 kohms, slowly creeping up to about 2.8kohms. When I removed the leads for a minute, then re-attached them, it started again at 2.38 and crept back up again. Very weird.
Otherwise it tested OK - with the sensor in sub-boiling water the resistance fell to about 250 ohms.
I replaced it as a matter of course. The new one was solid at about 2.35 kohms - no creeping.
I've never seen a sensor do this. Thoughts? Nothing urgent - just a point of curiousity, that's all.
