[FONT="]Our FIAT America club is having a tour through the San Francisco Bay Delta region to the Western Railway Museum Saturday, September 24. The dual focus of the tour is electricity-generating windmills and electric-powered trains from the Western Railway Museum. Tour starts in Livermore, travels back roads through Altamont and one of the oldest wind farms in the world. Stop in Oakley, for view of the Big Break waterway then to the Railway Museum grounds for a picnic lunch. At the museum there will be a ride on an early 1900s interurban electric rail car into the countryside, a tour of the part of the museum’s car and locomotive collection housed in a huge new $2.2M barn and a tour of the restoration shop.[/FONT]
[FONT="]Afternoon tour takes back roads through the Montezuma Hills to a very modern wind farm, with a brief stop in Rio Vista before heading back to Livermore. On the way back, we’ll get to see the giant new 400’ tall 2.2 megawatt windmill currently under installation. We should return before 5:00 PM.[/FONT]
