What is this manifold for?

I have two of these. They are steel and bolt to an 850 head. Why is the exhaust pointing backwards?

That is for an 850 when it is mounted mid engine in a purpose built race car. I sold a few 903 engines to a man in Quebec who was restoring a D sports racing Quasar. Cool car.

I purchased a motor from a fellow that was restoring a Sceptre. Maybe these came along with the motor.

Is that an ordinary aftermarket header or Abarth piece? Don't think I've ever seen a 4 into 1 header like that before. Maybe someone modified the header portion? Can't tell by the photo but there seems to be a rather small radius bend on the outlet pipe? Doesn't look like the most efficient of designs performance-wise.

It's a stock Series 1 Fiat 850 Spider/Coupe exhaust with the muffler part cut off & a couple of short pipes welded onto the end.
