What RPM do most people run at 75 mph

i think the tack on my 79 is crap as well, It never seems to go over 5000 even if I rev it untill the valves float.. man if thats 5k I dont want to rev it any further. :hrmph:
 
Max speed in 4th?

never herd of a tacho not displaying above "x" rpm before mine will be happy to show 7 - 8000 rpm. Does it limit and not go any further despite increase in engine speed or increase at half rate?

If the tach was showing 6500 in 4th (assuming this was acheivable) that is just shy of 100mph is this right?
 
On the 1300 cars...

...the tach maxes aout at 8200 rpm. It won't go higher.
I know I revved my old modified 1300 to 8500 because I was recording rpm with an external device.
