What's inside my gas tank?

OK, next question. Removed Fuel pump to clean up and determine condition. Put bucket under tank to drain fuel.... nothing came out! I gently inserted screw driver into the nipple coming out of gas tank and it hit something solid where it should have entered the tank.

Should I push harder? Is my tank full of something and needs to be pulled?

Thoughts? suggestions?

Tank Out?

If the tank is out you can look down the fuel sender opening, well you can do it on the car as well.

There is a filter sock inside the tank around the fuel outlet. You could be bottoming out on that.

I would pull the sender and look into the tank with a flash light.

If the tank went dry you will see a lot of greenish varnish and chalk on the sender unit.

tank isn't out

I was hoping not to drop the tank. I have the car up on stands, about 18" off the ground.

what do you think about pouring in a can of sea foam... let sit for 24 hours then flush with a couple gallons of gas?
