X1/9 Speedometer conversion

Looks nice...

Have you seen my repro gauge cluster for the X1/9?
Uses a TFT flat panel...

Nice idea

but I must comment on some of the figures:
48 BAR is a bit high (something like 720 psi...
208 C is twice the boiling point (about 400 F)
and what are the numbers in the center of the tacho for.
I mean it all in a constructive way, man.

The gauge is US spec -

so, ºF not ºC

Numbers in tach appear to be actual RPM

Can't see the 48bar, so I'll assume that's 48psi for oil pressure you are referring to?

This monitor is almost identical to the one used on the Samsung Q1 Ultra. (PC)
It uses a 7" touch panel TFT screen, nice and bright and it's what I'm using to test mine.
2 of these would make for a very nice cluster. Not cheap though...

Those are nice; I setup my brother's car with this unit and mobile PC to run a bunch of stuff in his car (HD radio, video/PM3's, map and GPS etc) and full car diagnostic tools as well. As a dashboard screen though? Maybe. Hadn't thought of that.
