Yugo spindels

A Yugo is a FWD car...

4wd? Am I missing something?

so if you are planning on using Yugo spindles on the front of an X, they will have a provision for the half-shafts. That's what Bernice is saying, you would only need that provision if you were engineering a 4wd X1/9.

That is actually a good question. The only real difference lies in the hub and its retention in the spindle. If someone has a parts list I would bet the 1978 X and earlier are the same as a 128 and the 79 and later are the same as a Strada (Ritmo). Those are the changeover years demarcating the upgraded wheel bearings as I recall.

I may be wrong but I believe you could use them on a pre 78 X.

In looking at Fiat Plus's site they are different part numbers, although they look the same. I suspect there is some difference in the configuration of the geometry of the steering arm or the specific geometry of the strut mount more than the way the CV joint is retained versus the X's hub with a nut.
