X-ing in Canada
Hi so i've started the BWM/beam relay.
I've concluded the first part (New positive wire to steering column) and will provide ample pictures of that soon, but in the meantime I am stuck for the 2nd part : low beam relay mod.
I have installed the 2 relays ( i will use one for eventual fog lights, as my high beams are strong already), and have grounded them properly. Now I am lost:
1- Where is the mentionned wire harness? I see some cables going into the cabin, through the firewall, but I don't want to start unwrapping until I am sure I have the right bunch in my hand.
2- I bought relays that have these markings: 87, 87a, 30, 86, 85.
Now From what I understand 30 is from battery positive. 85 or 86 are ground, then I'm not sure... Please help!
knowing nothing about car electricity, I was able to manage the first mod with fair success. the alt needle used to hover just over the red when driving with headlights and radio. The clock was flashing along with the blinkers when turned on etc... NOW, the needle stays at a strong 3/4 of the way up and nothing flickers or fades! The cluster is brighter, and everything works much better! Thanks!
