He answered 900-1000 when I asked...$750. It was easy to ask, and he answered practically immediately…pissed he wouldn’t ship.
My bid was 1551.00 after that, I decided to make my own, I made my first TOP on 2007 when I saw this auction, I want this TOP I thought, and somebody won this auction, this was the PUSH to make my own.And how much was your bid and the winner bid?
Have you made more of them since? That's a really great targa top.My bid was 1551.00 after that, I decided to make my own, I made my first TOP on 2007 when I saw this auction, I want this TOP I thought, and somebody won this auction, this was the PUSH to make my own.
Today I have two, my daily mule, and a pristine one in storage.
I got mine "free" with my 78 X1/9 purchase. I bought the X long distance from CA via Hemmings. The owner said "I have two targa tops for it and I will put the clear one in the frunk." I just said "OK" since I had never heard of a clear targa top. I didn't know what it was till Mac was talking about Saratoga tops and I realized I had one.I bought my Saratoga top for $50
Long story short, I was perusing craigslist in 2013 and came across a "x-1/9 targa top" forsale. While most of the pics looks like just a normal top, one pic had the top over a newspaper and you could see thru it. At that point, I knew what it was. I frantically drove to Petersborough (about an hour drive). The whole time, sweating it out thinking Bob Brown also saw the same ad and he was on his way as well. Luckily he must've slept in, and I picked it up for $50. The guy bought it in a storage unit sale. He obviously did not know what he had...
