Going for first fire

OK... Let's stop a minute...

What we KNOW:

1. Timing is RIGHT
2. Missing on ONE lung, consistantly.
3. Replacing #4 plug made no difference.

Need to PROVE:

1. Which lung, probably #4. Loosen plug wires at the plugs... Lift one at a time at FAST idle and note where there is a difference. The one that makes no difference when lifted, is the problem.

2. Compression test again... should do all four, and record results here.

3. If compression OK, swap plug wires.

4. If problem FOLLOWS the wire, replace same. If problem still persists on #4... then it MUST be the injector.

CAN WE START A NEW THREAD???

I think it's time to end this thread as it was titled "Going for first fire" and now that I have fire and idle it really is mission accomplished....next, a good smooth running and decent idle....look for the next episode coming soon.

Many thanks to all.
I believe the issue is with the cold start injector as having that disconnected allows the car to idle, now it still runs poorly but that could be anything.
Anyone looking at this for info, try disconnecting the connector at the injector. I am going to pull mine out and see what it's doing.

Our posts crossed in the writing.
I can't get my compression tester on #4, not enough room. It has some compression as I can feel it and hear it.
I will attempt the plug pull to confirm which cylinder is having issues.
