Soliciting for opinion - VERY pointed question.

Facom was once a French national company which began to distribute tools in the US at random. At some point, Facom tried to move into the US tool market by purchasing SK tools and re-branding some of their tools and designs as SK tools. This why some SK ratchets have Facom innards and other SK tools are so very similar to Facom offerings.

Since then, SK has come under a different owner, Ideal Industries today.

The Facom 347 is not a common flaring tool. It might be possible to order one via The Ultimate Garage. Easier could be to order one from the EU as they are not normally sold in the US due to cost and lack of demand.

FedHill rents/sells what appears to be a similar flaring tool;

There are other equally high quality brake line flaring tools on the market, finding them can be done as a new purchase (expensive) or shopping on ebay with good timing.

Thank you Bernice for your detailed information and pictures on flares and flaring tools.

I bought a cheap flaring kit a ways back to do some work later this winter, so I just went to the shop to try it out. Oops, a waste of money, the flares are uneven and the wrong shape. It is good to know this now, not through leaky fittings or failures.

I checked out Eastwood's tool, currently on sale for $200. The reviews rate it highly, stating that it does a good job, but some individuals commented that the Chinese manufacturing was roughly finished. This does not inspire confidence in me.

On the web I cannot find a North American source for the Falcom 347. Ultimate Garage lists a die set, but not the kit.

Anyone have an idea of where to get this?
