Here are a couple of options...

The one in Reno is a little above what you want to spend,
but $$ talks and the owner has had it advertised for a while.
There is a 77' that is closer to you. I'll add that last.

The '82 for $1500 looks like a deal. A few minutes trouble shooting the fuel injection system, maybe clean the fuel system and you're good to go.

1979 Fiat x/19 - $1150

1979 fiat x/19. Fun little car brand new tires runs good 5spd cd player aux. Transmission stays in 2nd gear, the linkage needs to be tinkered with. Removeable targa top stores under hood.
