What did you do to your X1/9 today ?

I made a mess of a rear brake caliper trying to get a snapped bleed nipple out.

Got one coming for the Holland x19 site ( cheaper than buying in the UK !)

The joys of not knowing what you are doing. Fun but expensive.

Recieved my floor pans and l/s rear corner from Eurosport. First time ordering from them. The parts are excellent as close to original as i think you can get. I ordered on the 13th and recieved on the16th i don't know how, but very quik shipping from over seas. Going out to start cutting. 20180216_163759.jpg

My guess is backed into it with another one of your vehicles?

Funny though, when I think of the heading "what did you do to your X today?", I usually think of repairs, accomplishments, projects completed, etc...not "I damaged it". :(
Sorry that happened Rod, I'm sure we've all been there before.

I know your pain. The morning after I bought my 86, I was waiting in line for a gas pump and the kid in front of me backed his lifted truck over the nose of my car. His trailer hitch left a nice calling card.
Thats when I learned the horn didnt work.

Well, I will fess up. Not really a back into it thing. I was working on a Jeep in the carport (up on jack stands) and parked slightly under the hitch. when lowering the front off the stands the rear stands must have shifted. when I running the jeep the stands tipped over dropping on the nose of the X.

Productive day. Got the carpet in. Got the LCD dash in and working. Worked on the flares. With the offset, size, and spacer, I needed the flares to be About 3 inches longer. So I cut it and will be fiberglassing the space. The tape in it now is just for approximation.

I'm putting a new clutch in my 79. Waiting on the rear main seal, since it was leaking. Nit a bad job if you take the left side rear sub frame off before removing transmission.

Finished the refurb of the front brakes. Onto the back today. All parts either rebuilt or new.

Got side tracked! Didn't finish the back brakes like I planned but instead tackled the fitment of the retro grill and spoiler. Going all in with the front and rear bumper delete and associated hardware. Cut out the old "fang" supports and attached small aluminum L brackets to secure the 75-78 grill. Worked for a few hours today in 20 deg weather. Boy that gets to you after a while. The car just got 10 MPH faster for sure!:D:D
