FFO 2023

Talk about paying it forward...You may remember my post from back when this happened. It was Denise who was kind enough to offer to drop me off at the U-Haul to pick up the trailer I rented to get my X back home. I felt really bad because just a couple of miles from the exit she spun a bearing in her truck, which was towing her Spider. She's amazing! Got on the phone with Hagerty Roadside assistance, made arrangements to get her truck towed to the nearest repair shop, opened up the trailer and fired up the Spider. She said "jump in" and off to the U-Haul we went! She had to circle back to get her sister who waited at the truck, they stuffed their luggage into the Spider and drove it all the way back home from Lancaster. This is why I'm so bummed. Because these are the kind of people I want to party with!
She is a great person. I met her at the first FFO I attended at Asheville. I likely saw her at Detroit a few years before but I wasn’t part of the club at the time.

Great story and of course she was the one to help. She used to regularly participate here but there was a member who was more than a little sexist who picked on her and Bernice.

Sounds like someone should have started picking on the sexist member. That kind of behavior is BS.

We are planning on being there. The NNE group held an event in VT last year. They really put the effort in.
This will only be our second FFO and are looking forward to it.
Hopefully we will driving this.
Saw my first 1 of these at the Larz Anderson Italian event last year. Beautiful car & 1 of the few I photographed.

So I heard there are 200 cars registered for the FFO. Still looking for any advice as this is my first time attending 1 of these events. I'd also be interested to see what members are planning on attending.

We are still planning on being there. Unfortunately the Alfa Jr Z will not make it.
Ran into an issue with the carbs. We will be in a new style Alfa Giulia.
JKIDD, Do you know who owns the yellow Jr.Z?

Go and have a good time. Enjoy the outrageously expensive rubber chicken at the dinners…

Be prepared to stay up late and hang out in the parking lot. Meet the people you ‘know’ on the internet. See if we are actually good people :)

Take someone on the drives with you if they just brought a regular car (hint hint) to the event from Michigan….

I am dealing with a problem with our well and not enjoying the process too much so leaving for New England tomorrow, at best, instead of yesterday. I was hoping to visit friends and family before the event, not clear what is going to happen now.

I am a bit miffed I had to pay for a car for the concours regardless of bringing a car… Perhaps I will enter my Jeep Compass, it is a Fiat after all…

I did that a few years ago in Lancaster, pa as I didn’t have a Fiat so I tagged along with a whole group of spider owners on the Saturday drive and it was a great time getting to know people! I highly recommend it to everyone.

The old guys will attend. Bob Martin and Melody are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and are on the east coast currently. I will be driving in from Canada on Tuesday 585 Miles GPS says 11 hour drive. Will cross at Lewiston and head east towards Albany. Weather is cool and calling for rain, we will see.

All the best. Hope to meet you all in the flesh.

Currently at FFO 2023 with Bob Martin and a lot of other Fiat guys. My trip was about 600 miles and Mike Bouse, Kevin and Doug, passed me on I90. They decided to take a more rural route and by chance we met at Londonderry for lunch. Well after lunch Mike checked his tow bar and it had broken away so they removed it, installed the drive shaft and Mike's car was under it's own power for about 170 miles to the event. I met up with Bob Martin and others along with a whole bunch of Black Flies that seem to be wearing spring jackets for warmth. It is 56 degrees here. We did 2 drives today, pretty country with winding hills and narrow roads. I followed Bob and Melody Martin in their Fiat SUV.

Got the X cleaned up to head to Bartlett (2.5 hr drive) and probably wasted my time as it's supposed to rain...

Anyone looking for a breakfast/lunch option I highly recommend this place in Jefferson NH. 47 minutes from the resort. Don't order the Mt Washington unless you don't want to eat for the rest of the day... It is not like the Dennys Grand Slam breakfast. Ask me how I know... Been going there for over 20 years.

Stopped at the Water Wheel for lunch. Came up on a Lancia Monte Carlo & X in Gorham & followed them to Bartlett. Got to the resort around 2. Rain on & off the whole time. Met Karl Mead in the parking lot. Waiting for registration to open.
