Notes
Several versions of the manual contains serious errors that were corrected in factory Service Letters:
- The manual gives the wrong placement for the main bearing shells. This is corrected in this service letter.
- The manual gives the wrong orientation for the big-end rod caps. This is corrected in this service letter.
- The order of the main bearing caps is incorrect on Page 10-30 of the Engine Assembly section. The correct order is for the cap with one notch to start at timing gear end, with the cap without notch at flywheel end. See link and link
