There are some incredible x1/9's out there, nice to see them in a great forum. Here are some pics of mine, owned it for about 30 years, repaint and interior restoration 2 years ago, new carpet, seats upholstered, weatherstrip, etc. Tried to keep it as stock as possible, love driving it, get many compliments, seems everyone "had one when I was younger" lol !

Wow, what a great blue!

We made the box as big has possible, without encroaching on any other parts of the engine such as oil filler cap Ect.
I am redoing the box as you can see in these pictures for more airflow. With a drop in filter element. Instead of the smaller rectangular air cleaner with the red scorpion on top. I have also cut the rain tray away. Above the air box, so it will seal onto the engine lid cover.

Nice! That's a work in progress! Did you find an air filter just the right size for the box, or did you made the box to fit the filter?

Hi everyone, it's been a long while since I've posted here. A new to me X1/9 is in the works, so it's about time I get reacquainted and add some pics. The green '75 was my first X1/9, in 1980. The red one is my '78 in it's heyday, it does not look like that now unfortunately. The blue X1/9 I bought in 2014 from an xweb member and sold January 2021. It is now in the stewardship of BrianM.

As promise. The finished product. Yes I removed the fan Assembly, and left all the ducting to still funnel air from the cold air intake next to the gas filler neck as per factory . After we found with testing on the Dyno and driving with the computer hooked up to the O2 sensor. That the fan assembly was actually obstructing air at higher speeds.

Ron, you are one step away from putting a snorkel on that car. Something I have always liked.

That step is probably finding one... The few people who got one won't sell it, no matter the price. Well, not for a reasonnable price. This is one of those unobtainium parts.

Where there is a will there's a way. But its is usually rather hard hard journey. ;)
