    Ultimate SOHC engine.

Fiat SOHC Performance Tuning. 1. Introduction. Despite having very humble origins as a power-plant for the 1969 front drive revolution Fiat 128, in my opinion the SOHC is quite a spectacular engine and Aurelio Lampredi's finest mass produced work. Notwithstanding it's 'inferior' design non...

Anyone know the Nissan valve part number that PBS uses?

Found I have a bent valve and would like to get a direct replacement. I believe it is a Nissan valve from a 240 or 260 but anyone's guess. One of those final stages of machining a 15deg back cut and "oh and by the way" deals.

    Fuel tank sender repair.

For those that like the challenge it is possible to repair the fuel tank sender resistor by rewinding it. From ebay I located 30' of 38 guage Nichrome wire. Resistance is 43 ohms per foot. You need about 10 feet. $5 for 30 feet of wire. First step with the sender removed is to pry up on the...

I wanted to plug the head's intake manifold coolant holes since they are not used for the FI manifold, but the holes had no threads. (By plugging the holes you can remove the intake/exhaust...

    Tweaking the AFM

I recently installed one of Matt's high performance heads on my 85 Bertone. When I posted this, Matt asked if I'd done any AFM re-mapping. According to him, many of his modded X's run lean, and need to have the AFM re-mapped. Reviewing the archives, I decided to try Matt's AFM air flap test...

GRRRR! Timing belt tensioner bearing making noise.

I guess it has been a while. In fact I may be fuzzy on the procedure, it's been so long. Can someone remind me of the pit falls of timing belt and tensioner replacement. The manuals are vague on critical points as I recall.

    Question about tweeking stock EFI

Hey all, in my white '83 X, I have a newly rebuilt 1500 slightly modded with milled head (.070), adj. camwheel, PBS SX-1 cam and homemade header/exaust with open cone type air filter. It runs really good, better than I expected in fact. I got a spare AFM sitting around and was wondering if there...
