What did you do to your X1/9 today ?

Tore right into complete restoration with K20 swap on my newly acquired basket case '77 by dropping the 1300 powertrain and suspension then bolting to the rotisserie / stands for body repairs.
Looks rough, but the bones are good and solid so wish me luck!

Pressure washed the engine and everywhere else. Then fogged everything with Maguires #40 and left it to soak. Engine comes out as soon as possible

Finished Installing the heater pipe in the tunnel. Bolted with all stainless components.
Lock washer will hold the nut in place along with loctite. I’m currently finishing up the hangers for the coolant pipes. Will post pics once completed. The bottom of the tunnel will be welded back on completely once all pipes are installed.

Thanks Dr Jeff. The pipe is part of a complete set from Brown & Miller racing. I am designing pipe hangers to install the remaining coolant pipes.

I took Gianine out for her maiden voyage, this afternoon! My first time actually driving the car, since I bought her in June of this year.
It was probably the first time she's been driven on the street since 1998! The trip was short and she ran far from perfect, but she goes, and now can stop too! My excitement is tempered by knowing I still have a lot of work to do to get her running and looking like I want.
But this is a BFD for me, nonetheless. Thanks to all here who helped the newbie along the way, so far!

When you say projector headlights with LED bulbs, what do you mean? Curious to see what they are specifically, thanks.

I'm an asshole, but I don't typically like being the asshole to potentially take work or orders away from small businesses, such as our vendors. Guys who have developed their own kits. I feel Im already dicking them because I very rarely buy parts from those sources. It's nothing personal (except for maybe one that always answers the phone rude, and never seems to actually have the parts they "sell")

I'm thrifty and enjoy doing the research and "hunt" for my own parts. So because of this, I won't link to the parts, sellers or items. Really ALL the info needed has been provided in my posting.
Search the terms I used and your golden.

luck. And looks like you're the guy to hit up for a Targa Top!

Thanks,
I do have a few tops, but I have two cars to do and only one real good one! That is just the way it goes with these things.
My plan is to use the best of them and repair the latch mounting points with epoxy, and then smooth the top and apply a sheet of carbon fiber look vinyl.
Lots of other work to do before I get to that though!

I do have a few tops,

Yep, I think many X owners have come to the realisation that it's coming up to close to 30 years since production ended, and 160,000 units over 17 years is not exactly a huge number. Add to that only 19,000 units coming out of Bertone, a design house and coachbuilding company, in the final 7 years, body parts and trim were always going to end up in short supply so stock piling and salvaging the best bits of multiple abused, dying and dead X's is a must.
